Notice is hereby given to all Union Public Utility District (UPUD) Domestic and Irrigation customers of a planned rate increase to your UWPA monthly fee. On May 20, 2020 the UPUD Board of Directors voted to increase the monthly UWPA fee by $11 to a total of $18 per month effective July 1, 2020. This increase is required to meet the costs of purchasing water from UWPA and fund its operation. The UWPA Rate Study, including the five year rate schedule, was presented at a public hearing on August 18, 2016 and approved by the UPUD Board on November 16, 2016. The cost to purchase water from UWPA is a complex process based upon power rates, availability of water and UWPA’s budget. Based on the five year rate schedule the UWPA fee approved rate is $25.85, however, the UPUD Board has chosen to be as conservative as possible by lowering this rate to $18 on behalf of all UPUD customers.
